Rapper/Actor T.I., government name, Clifford Harris Jr, and his wife Tiny, a.k.a. Tameka Cottle, were both arrested late Wednesday night while driving on Sunset Boulevard together in West Hollywood.  After a routine traffic stop, officers proceeded to arrest the couple on suspicion of possession of an illegal substance after they smelled what appeared to be marijuana coming from the vehicle.  In a recent press conference Los Angeles sheriff deputy, Mark Pope, announced

“Deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle… A narcotics investigation ensued,”

however he failed to mention specifically which drug the couple was being charged with.  Bail was set at $10,000 for each Tiny and T.I..  The couple was reportedly released at 4AM this morning on bail.

T.I. is currently enjoying his freedom after a recent six month lockup in Arkansas Federal Prison followed by three months in a Georgia halfway house ending with his release in March, 2010 for Federal Weapons Charges.  Meanwhile, his newly released movie, ‘Takers,’ also starring Paul Walker and Chris Brown, is busy making millions at the box office since it’s release just last week.  T.I.’s highly anticipated new album, “King Uncaged” is also set to drop soon later this month.

The Greatest Rapper Alive may be locked up in New York’s “finest” establishment, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t keep in touch with the people who love him the most – the fans!  Lil Wayne entered New York’s Riker’s Island on March 8th, 2010 at 12:30pm and is set to serve up to 12 months – 8 months with good behavior – in the establishment for attempted gun possession and having a loaded gun on his tour bus after a performance in 2007.  Carter has been keeping busy by working out, getting to know a few other incarcerated men at the prison, playing cards, and taking to the internet to blog when he’s given the time.  On the blog, Wayne writes back to fans and gives short updates on his daily to-do’s while being locked up.  STAY STRONG WEEZY!  We’ll be waiting for you on the outside to reclaim the thrown!

M.I.A. is well known for her carefree and alternative approach to the rap game.  She stands apart from the typical group of female rappers, not flaunting her cleavage or talking about her sexcapades, but instead using unique electronic beats, lesser known artists as features, and funky concepts and lyrics to compose her genius music.  Add in her outlandish tastes in funky fashion and you have yourself the most interesting anti-pop star on the market right now.  Check out her latest single, “XXXO,” off of her latest album, “/\/\/\Y/\,” – yes, that is in fact the name of her album – which was released earlier this year.  The video was directed by music video king Hype Wiliiams.  It has a Bollywood type feel to it and is strangely intriguing for an animated video.

Winning American Idol has allowed Fantasia to pursue a mainstream entertainment career including recording radio hits, releasing an autobiography, landing a starring role on Broadway in ‘The Color Purple,’ and scoring her own VH1 Reality Show.  However, her seemingly fairy-tale lifestyle was all crumbled when she became involved in an intimate and scandalous love triangle, which would send her into a downward spiral, nearly ending in death.

Fantasia met married man, Antwan Cook, in 2009 and their romance heated up quickly.  The two publicly displayed their affections in public venues as well as with tattoos – Fantasia chose to inscribe “Cook” on her chest for all to see and wear dresses on the red carpet to specifically show off the body art.  The couple also expressed their love by choosing to record some intimate moments on tape.  Yes, there is a Fantasia Sex Tape somewhere out there.  It’s only a matter of time before it becomes mainstream.

Two days have passed since the horrific event and Fantasia was just released from the hospital and is said to be in stable condition.  We’re not sure how “stable” you can be just 48 hours after trying to give yourself the axe, but we hope that Fantasia is seeking and receiving the necessary support and help she needs to fully recover.
