A slew of artists have taken a break from their normal celebrity schedules filled with concerts, autograph signings, recording, and photo shoots to put forth an effort to try and help the devastated people and land of Haiti.  On Tuesday afternoon at 4:50 PM, a horrific earthquake, measuring an astonishing 7.0 on the charts, struck Haiti.  It is said to be the worst to hit the Island in over 200 years. A series of over 30 aftershocks also contributed to the horrendous structural damage and death toll that occurred.  At the current time, it is estimated that a possible 500,000 citizens may be dead.

Former Fugee members Pras and Wyclef Jean have taken the issue personally being both of Haitian descent.  While Pras has decided to stay in the U.S. in order to keep up moral here and to encourage donations from other American citizens, Wyclef boarded a plane at 6:45 AM this morning headed for the Caribbean Island, which currently lacks sufficient food, hospitals, and other care neccessary to control the aftermath of the disaster.  Rumors have begun circulating about a Fugees reunion concert as a method of raising funds and awareness of the earthquake that hit Haiti, however no response from third estranged member’s, Lauryn Hill’s, camp has been heard as of yet.

Other artists banning together to help the nation in need include American Idol LGBT sensation, Adam Lambert, the ever present media mogul, P Diddy, Rapper LL Cool J, Nicole Richie’s husband Joel Madden of Good Charlotte, legend MC Hammer, American Idol host, Ryan Seacrest, Selena Gomez, and many others using twitter and other resources to spread word and help.
